Transform Your Business Future with LA County’s Entrepreneurship Academy
The Entrepreneurship Academies, offered by the Economic Mobility Initiative, is designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs and current small business owners with essential skills and knowledge to build and grow their businesses.
Program Highlights
- Program Duration: 8-10 weeks
- Format: Hybrid (both virtual and in-person options available)
- Languages: English and Spanish

As a result of participating in this program, participants will:
- Develop a comprehensive business plan
- Hire, recruit, and develop their team effectively
- Learn to manage accounting and tax responsibilities
- Master marketing and branding strategies
- Scale their business with confidence
- Gain access to funding and build strategic partnerships
- Complete the academy with a tailored business strategy
- Gain access to essential resources for operational and people management needs
- Receive assistance applying for LA County business certifications
- Tap into LA County vendor opportunities
- Be eligible to apply for future grants upon meeting graduation requirements
To be eligible to participate, applicants must
- Have been impacted by COVID-19
- Be a resident of LA County
- Be interested in starting or expanding their business
- Be an existing small business owner with 100 or fewer employees, in good standing

Explore Entrepreneurship and Build Real-World Skills with LA County’s Youth Entrepreneurship Academy
The Youth Entrepreneurship Academy, offered by the Economic Mobility Initiative, invites youth in high school and community college to gain the hands-on experience needed to build their own businesses and contribute positively to their communities.

- Program Duration: 6 weeks
- Format: In-Person
- Language: English

As a result of participating in this program, participants will:
- Create your own products
- Market and sell your products
- Develop and grow a business or side hustle
- Build your personal brand
- Use new tools and technology
- Learn how to benefit your community
To be eligible to participate, applicants must
- Be a resident of LA County
- Be between the ages of 14-26.
- Have been impacted by COVID-19.
- Be committed to attending all 6 weeks of classes
