Transform Your Business Future with LA County’s Entrepreneurship Academy

Overview:

The LA County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) invites you to join our Entrepreneurship Academy, part of our Economic Mobility Initiative designed to equip aspiring entrepreneurs and current small business owners with essential skills and knowledge to build and grow their businesses

Academy Highlights:

  • Develop a comprehensive business plan
  • Hire, recruit, and develop your team effectively
  • Learn to manage accounting and tax responsibilities
  • Master marketing and branding strategies
  • Scale your business with confidence
  • Gain access to funding and build strategic partnerships

Key Details:

  • Program Duration: 8-10 weeks
  • Format: Hybrid (both virtual and in-person options available)
  • Flexible Scheduling: Accommodates your business and personal commitments

Eligibility:

Applicants must

  • Have been impacted by COVID-19
  • Be interested in starting or expanding their business
  • Be an existing small business owner with 100 or fewer employees, in good standing

LA County Youth Entrepreneurship Academy

Explore Entrepreneurship and Build Real-World Skills with LA County’s Youth Entrepreneurship Academy

Overview:

The LA County Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) invites youth in high school and community college to join our Youth Entrepreneurship Academy as part of our Economic Mobility Initiative. This program is designed to empower young individuals with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to build their own businesses and contribute positively to their communities.

Academy Highlights:
Create your own products
Market and sell your products
Develop and grow a business or side hustle
Build your personal brand
Use new tools and technology
Learn how to benefit your community
Key Details:
Program Duration: 6 weeks of classes, 1 day per week, 2 hours per session
Format:  In-person only
Flexible Scheduling:
– NVCS Best Buy Teen Tech Center, 15453 Rayen Street, Los Angeles, CA 91343
– Thursdays, with two available time slots: 2:30 PM – 4:30 PM or 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

Eligibility:

Applicants must

  • Be between the ages of 14-26.
  • Have been impacted by COVID-19.
  • Be committed to attending all 6 weeks of classes and have reliable transportation.
